I’m in/at/on

Describes an action you are doing.

Most commonly, you would use the word ‘in’ when entering a physical location such as a room or a building.

Here are some examples:

هنگام ورود به یک مکان قابل لمس
“I’m in the shower.”  من زیر دوش هستم
“I’m in the lobby.”من در راهرو هستم
“I’m in a car.”من در ماشینم
“I’m in a house.”من در خانه هستم
“I’m in a school.”من در مدرسه هستمUsing the word ‘at’ helps tell someone where you currently are.

The difference between ‘at’ and ‘in’ is that the physical location is general.

Here are some examples:
هنگامی که مکان عمومی است
“I’m at the grocery.”  من در خواربار فروشی هستم
“I’m at the mall.” من در مرکز خرید هستم
“I’m at the doctor’s office.” من در مطب دکتر هستم
“I’m at the park.”من در پارک هستم
“I’m at the airport.”من در فرودگاه هستم

However, in some cases you can use ‘at’ and ‘in’ interchangeably.

Here are some examples:
گاها می توان هر دو را بجای هم استفاده کرد
“I’m at the mall.” من در مرکز خرید هستم
“I’m in the mall.”من در مرکز خرید هستم
“I’m at the park.”من در پارک هستم
“I’m in the park.”من در پارک هستم
“I’m at the grocery.”من در خواربار فروشی ام
“I’m in the grocery.”من در خوابار فروشی ام

Using the word ‘on’ is referring to a non physical location such as your time being utilized by something else.

Here are some examples:
در مکان  غیرقابل لمس و غیر فیزیکی استفاده می شود
“I’m on the phone.” من روی خط تلفن هستم
“I’m on my computer.” من تو کامپیوترم هستم
“I’m on a bus.” من تو اتوبوس هستم
